ReadoBook holds 12A registration, which exempts the foundation's own income from tax — that is not the same thing as 80G, which is what gives a donor a deduction. We do not currently hold 80G, so please do not assume a deduction is available. If it is granted, the certificate number will appear on our transparency page.

School textbooks and workbooks, story books for any age, reference books, dictionaries and atlases, and competitive exam material. Children's stationery, toys and games are welcome too.

Books that are badly damaged, missing pages, water-affected, or from a syllabus that has since been replaced. We would rather tell you that now than have you carry them across town.

Where there is enough to be worth a trip and you are within our reach, yes. Tell us roughly how many books there are and where you are, and we will confirm.

Every device is fully reset before it is inspected further. Nothing of yours travels with it. We still recommend you back up and wipe it yourself first — that way neither of us has to rely on the other.

It needs to be repairable. A cracked screen or a tired battery is fine. A device that no longer receives security updates, or that would cost more to repair than it is worth, is not something we can responsibly give a student.

As little as one morning. Sorting and checking books, delivery rounds, refurbishing devices and online help can all be done occasionally. Teaching and mentoring need more consistency, because a child is relying on you turning up.

Online donations return a payment reference immediately and an acknowledgement by email. Direct bank transfers and UPI payments are reconciled by hand, so allow a few working days and keep your transaction reference.
