Donation policy

What we accept

• Money, online or by direct bank transfer or UPI.
• Books, study material, children's stationery, toys and games in usable condition.
• Smartphones, tablets, laptops and computers that work or can be economically repaired.
• Time and professional skills.

What we will not accept

• Anything whose source we have reason to doubt, or that would place the foundation in breach of Indian law.
• Donations that come with conditions we cannot meet, or that would require us to misrepresent what the money did.
• Items in a condition we would not give our own children — damaged books, unsafe devices, incomplete sets.
• Donations from a donor who requires publicity we are not willing to give.

How donations are used

Towards books and study material, device repair and setup, delivery, and the ordinary running costs without which none of that happens. Where you choose a campaign, the money goes to that campaign. Where a campaign is already funded, we will say so and ask before moving your donation elsewhere.

What we will not claim

• No cost-per-child figures. You will not find “₹500 educates a child” on this site. Costs vary by class, syllabus, language and distance, and a fixed figure like that is almost always invented.
• No donor tax deduction. Reado Book Social Foundation holds 12A registration, which exempts the foundation’s own income from tax. That is a different registration from 80G, which is what would let you claim a deduction — and we do not hold it. Please do not assume a donation is tax-deductible. If 80G is granted, the certificate number will appear on our transparency page.
• No unverified impact numbers. Figures are published only once the foundation can trace them to a record and name the period they cover.

Payments and card details

Online payments are processed by a regulated payment gateway. The foundation never sees, handles or stores your card number, CVV or PIN. We receive your name, contact details, the amount and a payment reference.

Records and acknowledgements

Every online donation is recorded with its payment reference, and an acknowledgement of receipt is emailed to the address you gave. Direct bank and UPI transfers are reconciled by hand, so allow a few working days and keep your transaction reference.

Donor privacy

We do not publish donor names without permission, and we do not share donor details with anyone outside the foundation except our payment, hosting and email providers. See our privacy policy.

Anonymous donations

You may ask us not to record your name publicly. We still need your contact details for the payment record and the acknowledgement.

Photographs and consent

Where a donation leads to a photograph or a story involving a child, we publish it only with the consent of that child's parent or guardian, and we remove it on request.
