What we will not tell you

You will not find “₹500 educates a child” anywhere on this site. Costs vary by class, syllabus, language and how far the delivery has to go, and a fixed figure like that is almost always invented. We tell you what an amount covers, not what it guarantees.

On tax: Reado Book Social Foundation holds 12A registration, which exempts the foundation’s own income from tax. That is a different thing from 80G, which is what lets a donor claim a deduction — and we do not currently claim it. Please do not assume this donation is tax-deductible.

01Is my donation tax-deductible?

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. ReadoBook holds 12A registration, which exempts the foundation's own income from tax — that is not the same thing as 80G, which is what gives a donor a deduction. We do not currently hold 80G, so please do not assume a deduction is available. If it is granted, the certificate number will appear on our transparency page.

02How do I know my money was received?

Online donations return a payment reference immediately and an acknowledgement by email. Direct bank transfers and UPI payments are reconciled by hand, so allow a few working days and keep your transaction reference.

03Can I choose what my donation pays for?

Yes. Pick a campaign on the donation page, or tell us in the message field. We will not pretend a fixed amount educates a fixed number of children — costs vary, and that claim is usually invented.
