Privacy policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

The short version
We collect what a form asks for and nothing else. We use it to do the thing you asked for — collect your books, look at your device, reply to your message, acknowledge your donation. We do not sell it, we do not share it for marketing, and you can ask us to delete it.
Who we are
Reado Book Social Foundation (CIN U85300PN2020NPL188994), a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee with its registered office at Shop No. 3, Building A, J.K. Park, Meetha Nagar, Sr. No. 43/1/A, Kondhwa Khurd, Pune, Maharashtra 411048, is responsible for the personal information collected through this website.
What we collect
- When you offer books or a device: your name, mobile number, email if you give one, city and PIN code, and what you are offering.
- When you volunteer: your name, contact details, city, what you would like to do and when you are free.
- When you donate: your name, email, mobile number, the amount, and a payment reference. Your PAN only if you choose to give it. We never see or store your card details — those go directly to the payment gateway.
- When you request a book: the student's name, class or course, contact details and delivery area.
- When you message us: what you write and how to reply.
What we do not collect
We do not run advertising trackers. We do not build profiles of visitors. Analytics, if enabled, are loaded only after you agree to them, and are used to understand which pages people find useful — not to identify you.
Why we are allowed to hold it
Because you gave it to us for a specific purpose and ticked a box saying so, and because we need it to do the thing you asked. Where the law requires us to keep records of donations, we keep those for as long as it requires.
Who else sees it
- Our payment gateway, which processes the payment and holds the card details we never receive.
- Our hosting and database providers, which store the submission so a volunteer can act on it.
- Our email provider, which delivers the notification and your acknowledgement.
- Anyone the law compels us to tell.
Nobody else. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not pass your details to other charities.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries we could not act on: deleted within 12 months of the last contact.
- Donation records: kept as long as financial and tax law requires.
- Volunteer records: kept while you are volunteering and for 24 months afterwards, unless you ask us to remove them sooner.
Children
This website is not designed for children to use on their own. A book request for a student should be made by a parent, guardian or teacher. We publish a photograph of an identifiable child only with the consent of their parent or guardian, and we remove any photograph on request, without asking why.
What you can ask us to do
Tell you what we hold about you; correct it; delete it; stop contacting you. Write to us through the contact page and we will act within 30 days. There is no charge.
Security
Submissions travel over HTTPS and are stored with access restricted to the people who need it. No system is perfect; if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you rather than hope you do not notice.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
